"Haight Street Eyecare" on Fillmore?
Why are we called Haight Street Eyecare but located on Fillmore Street?
Upon graduating from Southern California College of Optometry, Dr. Terrence Chan started practicing Optometry on Fillmore Street with Dr. Collin Chu in 1979. After a couple years under his belt, in 1981 he began working with Dr. Robert Chew in the Haight Ashbury. This is where Dr. Terry practiced at Haight Street Eyecare for over 20 years and developed great relationships with many patients in the neighborhood.
In 2001, we were forced to relocate and leave the Haight Ashbury neighborhood but not the wonderful patient relationships that we developed. Although we miss “The Haight”, we are thankful for our current home! Moving to 1752 Fillmore Street became full circle for our history. This is the original office Dr. Terry started practicing when he worked with Dr. Chu! Dr. Chu has since retired; however, his influence is still present where we focus on taking care of our existing patients and our new ones.
